Nichi GLOW is one of the brands in the Nichi Glucan range of products; specifically, this is a produce of AFO-202 strain of Black Yeast Aureobasidium Pullulans, comes in a box of 30 sachet (each 1.0 gram of granule; 21mg Beta 1,3-1,6 glucan/gram).

 

Clinical studies* of Nichi Glow in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) showed that after consumption of Nichi Glow for 90 days helped in improvement of behaviour and sleep with corresponding increase in serum melatonin and Alpha-Synuclein levels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alpha-synuclein as a presynaptic neurotransmitter plays a key role in the synaptic functions of neurons. Alpha-synuclein has already been reported to be associated with several neurodegenerative disorders, collectively called synucleinopathies such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLBs), and multiple system atrophy.

 

The gut-microbiota axis is the connecting link wherein Gram-negative enteric bacteria such as the Enterobacter and E coli secrete the pathological and immunomodulatory amyloids such as Alpha-Synuclein whose accumulation plays a major role in the pathogenesis and progression of the neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. In the clinical study, consumption of Nichi Glow led to favourable reconstitution of the gut microbiota and decrease in Enterobacteria thus demonstrating the potential of this Nichi Glow supplementation for neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD as well as neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
